Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to (1)identify the overall health behavior of youth in their 20s by grouping them and (2) to examine the changing risk ratio of health behavior among teenagers to adults.

Methods: The research data were used by the Korea Employment Information Service(KEIS) for four years (2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018) of the Youth Panel Survey. Health behavior indicators used drinking, smoking, sleeping hours, and physical activity. Youths were classified into four groups to identify the characteristics of health behaviors by groups in their 20s. After that, the risk ratio for each group was calculated for each of the four years by using the unemployed as a reference variable for each health behavior index. In order to identify changes in health risk behavior in youth transition, the past (born 91-93) and present (born 97-99) youth cohorts were divided and the risk ratio of changing health behaviors was calculated when each cohort entered adulthood.

Results: The characteristics of group health behavior of youth in their 20s showed the highest risk ratio of the employed group in the case of excessive drinking and smoking. Lack of sleep time was also the highest risk among graduate students. Recently, the risk ratio of youth (born 1997-99) cohort to unhealthy behavior that changes from teenager to adults has increased compared to past youth (born 91-93).

Conclusion: While the overall health behavior of adults in Korea has improved, it has been confirmed that the youth does not. It is necessary to continuously monitor the health behavior of youth in the future, and diversify health measures by classifying them into groups rather than single health measures for youth.
